As previously mentioned, the first update to be seen will be iCloud Backup, followed by the HomeKit & Google Home integration. Standby Mode is also on our list and will be released along with the Homekit & Google Home integration.
We are also testing our Mac and Vision Pro apps at the moment. The Mac app will be next then the Vision Pro will follow.
The development of the iPad and Watch version of Candy Box App is well under way but will be available in later updates. As a design first company, we want the Candy Box App to be a productive and elegant experience on every device.
Is there an Android Version?
Yes, there is an Android version. We have resumed work on our Android app and will be sharing more information in the near future. We say “resumed” because in the beginning we set out to build an Android app but iOS had more links for us to work with.
The name Candy Box comes from Android OS’ old dessert names so Candy Box on Android isn’t something we have forgotten about, it’s coming soon 🙂
You mentioned Mac, what about Windows?
We have future plans for Windows but at the moment, we only have the bandwidth to focus on mobile. Because our iOS code works on other Apple platforms, our work on Apple devices is almost done so when we say, “future plans,” we mean sooner than later.
Some featured apps in Candy Box can only open the app, why is that?
We wish to show users the functional possibilities of Candy Box App. To do this, considering Apple grants more access to their iPhone apps through the Shortcuts app, we have featured a couple of apps that give the user the ability to open the app. For these apps for the time being, shortcut actions beyond opening as well as accessing other parts of those apps can be found in iOS’s Shortcuts app.
We are in contact with developers featured in the app and will be to adding more shortcuts as we receive them.
Why do some shortcuts take me to the iOS Shortcuts app first?
Shortcuts that are set up outside of Candy Box (inside of iOS Shortcuts) will go to the iOS Shortcuts app briefly before it goes to its final destination. All of this happens very fast but is not as quick or direct as shortcuts set up inside of Candy Box. Look at it as a quick layover.
Who makes Candy Box?
Candy Box™ is brought to you by Los Angeles based designer Lambert Owusu. It’s a project conceived in 2012, designed in 2016 – 2018, and brought to you in 2024 with the help of a remote team of developers.
OUR DUTY & PROMISE
We have taken on the duty of creating an intuitive and delightful shortcut experience unlike anything out there. Our goal is to continue support for our Candy Box App users by opening up the world of apps in the Featured List as well as expanding capabilities for current apps, should developers provide us with the links to do more.
The most challenging part of this journey will be how we bring everyone’s favorite app to Candy Box but we are committed to it.
We are in contact with many app developers to get their app’s URL links in Candy Box App so users can easily add and access them.
With millions of iPhone Apps available, we will be prioritizing apps that fall in the category of Productivity, Communications, Utility, Commerce, Music + Video, Photography, and Social.
What makes Candy Box special?
Candy Box™ is a patent-pending design system and solution that utilizes what already works/already has been built. A direct result of empathy and taste.
Our smartphones are always in our hands,
Our digital lives are scattered across multiple apps,
Most apps have shortcuts links built into them,
Most Smart Home products come with an app,
Our smartphones are our modern-day remote controls,
What’s been missing is the right User Interface/User Interaction that makes all these experiences feel seamless. This is where Candy Box comes in.
In 2007, the iPhone basically told us to just touch the damn screen.
In 2024, Candy Box is saying just skip past the distractions.
TOUCH IS STILL IN STYLE 😉
Also, what you see in the Candy Box App is Candy Box 2.0, we can’t wait to show you Candy Box 1.0. The original Candy Box 😉 😉 😉
I’m a developer, how can I submit my app links/URL?
We will be providing a portal where app links can be sent to us.
Please note that we will be prioritizing apps that fall in the category of Productivity, Communications, Utility, Commerce, Music + Video, Photography, and Social.
